Happy April! We’re three days in the new month, and I’m really excited to list all of the new releases I’m looking forward to reading. I’ve been fortunate enough to read some of these early, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint at all. Here’s my round-up:
I feel like I did something heroic in my past life for being fortunate enough to have been sent the ARC by Joan back in January. Seriously, Descendant of the Crane is a masterpiece. The descriptions and world-building are done so beautifully and intricately that I literally felt my eyes widening and the hair on my arms rising as I continued reading.
Far from Agrabah was a fresh take on Disney’s Aladdin. Instead of taking readers on a brand new trip with Aladdin and Jasmine’s story, Aisha Saeed instead brings a totally new kingdom, that in all honesty, should have made it…
The moment I hit the last page and read that everything went to hell in this book, I yelled out “WHAT THE FUCK” and my roommate popped his head in my room and asked if I needed help. So yeah, I guess you can say this book definitely affected the fuck out of me.
This book has gotten an insane amount of hype on Twitter, and while I understand why people liked it, I could have been a lot stronger than it was. The plot was more interesting than anything else, and I’m disappointed to see that the book didn’t live up to its hype.
